Lucille Gavera

Lucille is responsible for the management of a number of ComMark’s agri-business projects, including the Communal Wool Farmers project in the Eastern Cape, implemented by the National Woolgrowers Association of South Africa (NWGA), the Agri-business Linkages and Agricultural Infrastructure projects in the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal, implemented by LIMA Rural Development Foundation, and the Organic Cotton SA Demonstration Pilot, with project partners Organic Exchange, Cotton SA, the Agricultural Research Council (ARC) and Woolworths SA.

Lucille was previously chief information officer at Trade & Industrial Policy Strategies (TIPS) where she managed the creation and implementation of the organisation’s communications strategy, the publication of its research and institutional reports, and web and data dissemination. At TIPS she was also the editor of the Trade & Industry Monitor, and project managed and edited the Western Cape Provincial Treasury’s Provincial Economic Review and Outlook (PER&O) in 2005 and 2006.

Gavera holds a Masters Degree in English and a B. Comm. (Law) degree from the University of Stellenbosch.
