New Agribusiness Office and Staff
On 4 May ComMark welcomed two new staff to the Eastern Cape Red Meat Project (ECRMP). Joining the ECRPM team is a bit of a home-coming for Ms. Bongolethu Ngambu (Bongo) who was born and raised in the Province. Bongo will be the Office Administrator in the Alfred Nzo District Municipality office and she will help open the new district office in Mount Frere. Bongo’s 2-year varsity college degree will enable her to bring skills in advertising, marketing and financial management to the ECRMP. Bongo speaks with pride when she says “the Eastern Cape has much to offer.”

Mr. Mathembekaya (Mathemba) Mapuma is our new Animal Production Specialist. Before joining ComMark Mathemba worked for the Amathole District Municipality in agricultural development where he was involved in all aspects of project planning and advising political leadership. At ComMark he “hopes to be hands-on in terms of livestock development and improvement – everything from production to marketing.” Mathemba studied agriculture in high school and received a Masters degree in grasslands science. He is a trained animal and pasture specialist. And as a farmer with a head of 90 cows, he knows how to bridge theory and practice. Welcome Bongo and Mathemba!
